The member representing Zango Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Honourable Sam Kambai, has polled 414 votes to defeat Elizabeth Barnabas in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for Zangon Kataf Constituency in Zangon-Kataf Local Government Area.
Speaking to newsmen after he was affirmed as the winner, Honourable Kambai thanked APC members for the confidence they have reposed in him.
He described his victory as a call to do more, pledging to continue lobbying for development projects and to provide stronger representation.
“I want to sincerely thank the APC family and my constituents for giving me another opportunity to continue serving,” he said.
Kambai disclosed that he had sponsored a bill seeking the establishment of a College of Agriculture Technology, which has already passed its second reading and is awaiting the governor’s assent.
He further noted that he had facilitated road construction projects, including a one-kilometre road in Tanji, as well as the renovation of several primary schools in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government.
According to the lawmaker, LEA Primary Schools in Takau and Kamasa have benefited from these interventions, while additional schools are awaiting approval for renovation.
Kambai also called for unity among party members, revealing that he had initiated reconciliation efforts with his co-contestant in order to strengthen APC cohesion ahead of future elections.
“We must unite and move forward together for the benefit of our people,” he said.
Kambai expressed optimism about the APC’s chances in future elections, citing improved security and ongoing development efforts under President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.
