Kantiok Secures APC Ticket for Zonkwa Constituency, Vows More Development
By: Abubakar Labaran
The member representing Zonkwa Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Honourable Emmanuel Kantiok, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming general elections.
Kantiok secured 549 votes to defeat Jotham Ayuba and Lawrence Bakam. He described his emergence as an endorsement of his performance and a renewed mandate to deliver more dividends of democracy.
Speaking shortly after the exercise at the Local Government Secretariat in Zonkwa, the headquarters of Zango-Kataf Local Government Area, Kantiok expressed gratitude to God, party leaders, and his constituents for their continued support. He promised to consolidate on his achievements if re-elected.
He noted that his legislative responsibilities had extended beyond lawmaking, highlighting that he had facilitated several developmental projects across the education and health sectors.
“As Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary for eight years, virtually all bills passed by the Assembly went through my committee. Beyond legislative duties, we have facilitated projects in education, healthcare and other sectors,” he said.
Kantiok listed interventions including classroom construction and renovation, provision of staff rooms, toilets, fencing, and furniture in schools across Kamantan, Madakiya, Anfana, Ikulu, and other communities.
He added that he facilitated upgrades of primary healthcare centres across the five wards of the constituency, alongside scholarship and empowerment programmes for students and small business owners.
On security, the lawmaker said the Assembly had continued collaborating with relevant agencies to strengthen safety across Kaduna State, assuring constituents of more development-focused representation if returned to office.
He also appealed to his fellow contestants to join hands with him to do everything possible to positively touch the lives of the people.
