Governor Sule Urges Muslims to Embody Ramadan Teachings of Peace and Sacrifice

By Kure Tashilane

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule, has called on the people of the state to embrace peaceful coexistence and actively apply the lessons learned during the holy month of Ramadan in their daily lives, emphasizing that doing so is key to earning Allah’s reward.

The Governor made the appeal at his country home in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area, shortly after observing the two-Raka’at Eid prayers. He was joined by members of his cabinet, security chiefs, and key stakeholders from across the state.

The Eid prayers were preceded by a sermon delivered by Mal. Suleiman Mohammed Barde, who urged parents to take an active role in the upbringing of their children as a means of seeking Allah’s pleasure. The prayers were led by Mal. Idris Mohammed.

In his remarks, Governor Sule described Ramadan as a period of sacrifice, obedience, and complete submission to the will of Almighty Allah. He encouraged the people to continue exemplifying actions that foster lasting peace, which is essential for development to flourish.

"God Almighty has been very kind to us. Let me use this opportunity to console my good brothers in Borno, Niger, Katsina, and other places because of the tragic incidences we witnessed during the holy month of Ramadan," the Governor said.

He added, "May the souls of the departed ones during this tragic period rest in perfect peace. We will continue to pray for peace and encourage our security agents to remain vigilant, stay alert, and strengthen their intelligence-gathering to avoid such incidents where innocent souls are killed by those who act against the way of Almighty Allah."

Governor Sule also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of security agencies, traditional rulers, and religious leaders in the state for consistently preaching the right values, which have helped foster a deeper sense of love and mutual understanding among the people.
