Nasarawa State Delivers Humanitarian Support to Displaced Persons in Wamba LGA

The Nasarawa State Ministry of Women Affairs and Humanitarian Services has conducted a humanitarian outreach in Wamba Local Government Area, demonstrating its continued commitment to supporting displaced persons from neighboring Plateau State.

The delegation was led by the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Humanitarian Services, Barr. Hauwa Samuel Jugbu, who was accompanied by the Director of Humanitarian Services, Alh. Ahmed Abubakar, and the Deputy Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs. Rebecca Adamu, among other ministry officials.

Speaking at the event, Barr. Jugbu reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Nasarawa State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, to protecting and supporting vulnerable populations. She emphasized that the intervention was aimed at alleviating hardship, easing suffering, and promoting social inclusion for those displaced.

The Honourable Commissioner urged community leaders and beneficiaries to ensure the relief materials were put to good use, noting that the support was designed to complement existing government social protection programmes. She reaffirmed that Nasarawa State remains a home of peace and solidarity.

In his remarks, the Administrator of the Darin Ruwa Administrative Council, Mal. Bala Mohammed Sunusi, expressed profound gratitude to the State Government and the Ministry for bringing the humanitarian initiative to his community. He described the gesture as both timely and impactful.

The event featured the distribution of essential relief materials, including rice, beans, garri, sugar, and Maggi seasoning.

The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to advancing the welfare and dignity of vulnerable populations and pledged to continue implementing people-oriented programmes across Nasarawa State.
