Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice Enters Digital Era, Equips Lawyers and Library with New Computers

In a significant move to modernize its operations, the Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice has distributed 20 new laptop computers to lawyers within the ministry. This initiative is designed to boost efficiency, productivity, and align the state's legal services with global digital standards.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, presented the laptops to the beneficiaries. He charged them to use the tools effectively and responsibly in their official duties, emphasizing that the provision of these resources comes with heightened expectations for performance.

“The world has gone digital. Gone are the days when counsel complain of lack of working tools,” Barr. Danladi stated. He warned that the ministry would strictly monitor productivity and would not condone laxity or unprofessional conduct.

The Attorney General explained that the laptops were procured as a deliberate motivational measure to encourage lawyers to embrace digital tools, thereby improving the quality of legal service delivery in Nasarawa State. He reiterated that staff welfare has remained a top priority since his assumption of office.

In a related development, Barr. Danladi disclosed the procurement of six desktop computers for the Ministry of Justice Library. This equipment is part of foundational preparations for establishing a functional electronic library (e-library), aimed at revolutionizing legal research, documentation, and access to digital legal resources.

Responding on behalf of the elated beneficiaries, Barr. Adole Umar thanked the Attorney General and the ministry for the gesture. He assured that the lawyers would make judicious use of the laptops to justify the confidence reposed in them

The presentation ceremony was attended by top ministry officials, including the Permanent Secretary, Mohammed A. Adi; the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Barr. Justina A. Allu; the Director of Legal Drafting, Barr. Yahaya Y. Ideh; the Director of Reforms, Ishayaku Barki Gyado; and the Director of Administration and Supplies, Suleiman Mohammed Akwe.
