Kwoi, Kaduna state - Kamurum Integrated Farms has provided empowerment support to 120 women entrepreneurs in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State through an initiative designed to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The programme, titled “Upscaling Women-Owned SMEs in Jaba Local Government,” was held on Thursday at the Ham Event Center in Kwoi. It brought together women business owners from across the local government’s ten wards.
The initiative reflects Kamurum Integrated Farms’ ongoing commitment to rural development and women’s economic inclusion, particularly in communities with limited access to resources and business expansion opportunities.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Kamurum Integrated Farms, Rijo Shekari, emphasized that empowering women-owned enterprises leads to stronger households, thriving markets, and a more resilient local economy.
Shekari, who is also an aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, thanked the Kaduna State Governor for fostering a model of peace that has enabled business to flourish in once-troubled areas.
In her goodwill message, Mrs. Fatu Gyet Maude, wife of the Paramount Ruler of Ham, commended Kamurum Integrated Farms and Rijo Shekari for prioritizing women’s empowerment. She described the programme as a meaningful step toward enhancing women’s capacity to contribute to community growth.
Mrs. Maude encouraged beneficiaries to use the support to expand their businesses and called on other organizations to emulate such community-focused interventions.
Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a transformative opportunity to improve productivity, support their families, and strengthen the local economy.
Each beneficiary received ₦105,000 in support, further cementing Kamurum Integrated Farms’ growing role as both an agribusiness leader and a catalyst for community development across Southern Kaduna
