Free Healthcare Initiative Launches in Jema'a/Sanga, Targeting Thousands with Surgeries and Care

In a significant boost to community health, Honourable Daniel Amos, Member representing Jema'a/Sanga Federal Constituency, has launched the fourth edition of his annual free medical outreach. The program aims to provide critical interventions, including approximately 1,200 general medical surgeries, 400 eye surgeries, and the distribution of 3,000 eyeglasses.

With an estimated budget of 150 million naira, the initiative is personally funded and sustained by Hon. Amos. It reflects his ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life for his constituents by addressing healthcare needs that many have deferred due to financial constraints.

The launch ceremonies were held simultaneously at the Sir Patrick Yakowa Hospital in Kafanchan and the Gwantu General Hospital in Sanga, conducted in partnership with the Graceland Healthcare Foundation.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Daniel Amos stated that the program has become a signature humanitarian effort reaching every corner of the constituency. "This outreach has laid a foundation for sustained medical intervention. Encouraged by the overwhelming feedback, I assure you of robust medical support both during and beyond my time in office, for as long as I have the capacity," he affirmed.

He also took the opportunity to thank the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, for facilitating agricultural support to the area.

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, represented by former Medical Director of General Hospital Kafanchan, Dr. Jonathan G. Gajere, commended the initiative. He highlighted its alignment with his administration's transformation agenda and noted the state’s parallel efforts to revitalize primary healthcare centers across all 23 local government areas.

The Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Umma Ahmed, through a representative, urged all medical personnel involved to discharge their duties with utmost dedication.

Dr. Ibrahim of the Graceland Healthcare Foundation noted the program's expanded reach into rural communities this year. The Chairman of Jema'a Local Government, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, praised the initiative for directly impacting the poorest and most vulnerable.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including representatives of Senator Sunday Marshal Katung, APC Chairman Jema'a LG Alhaji Ibrahim Koli, Member of the State Assembly Hon. Ali Kalat, and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Yunana Markus Barde, all of whom applauded the life-saving impact of the outreach program.
