Nasarawa State Advances 2025 Budget with Focus on Year-End Performance
By Rilwanu Abubakar A.
The Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Hajiya Munira Abdullahi, has led the final review and validation process for the 2025 Budget Amendment. During a session with the Budget Department, she emphasized the need for accuracy and alignment with the State Government's fiscal objectives, ensuring the amended budget will deliver improved performance.
Commissioner Abdullahi commended the Budget Team for their dedication and professionalism, which were instrumental in achieving the 11th position in the ICIR 2025 Mid-Year Budget Performance Ranking among Nigerian states. Drawing on her extensive experience, she provided strategic guidance on priority projects that can be realistically executed in the final quarter of the year. This focused approach aims to enhance implementation efficiency and set a strong foundation for the 2025 Fiscal Year.
We are pleased to confirm that the 2025 Q3 Budget Performance Report (BPR) was successfully uploaded yesterday following a comprehensive review and validation by the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).
The Ministry extends its sincere appreciation to all Bursars, Directors of Finance and Accounts (DFAs), and Accountants across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) for their commitment and timely contributions. We also recognize those MDAs that consistently submit accurate and timely financial reports. Your diligence is vital in promoting transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline in Nasarawa State.
As we conclude the amendment process and prepare for the Q4 review, all MDAs are strongly encouraged to:
1. Adhere strictly to approved budgetary provisions.
2. Ensure timely and full disclosure of financial information.
3. Maintain consistency and accuracy in all reporting.
These steps are crucial to ensuring the 2025 Accountant-General’s Report aligns seamlessly with the 2025 Budget Performance Report, reinforcing our collective goal of sound public financial management and sustainable development.
Together, we are continuing to make Nasarawa State a model of transparency, accountability, and fiscal excellence.
