Ministry of Education Sets September 14th for School Resumption in Nasarawa State

 The Nasarawa State Ministry of Education, has officially announced that schools will resume for the 2025/2026 academic session on the 14th and 15th of September, 2025. The announcement was made during the 1st Term Pre-Resumption Meeting held at the Ministry’s Conference Hall in Lafia.

The meeting aimed to ensure a smooth take-off for the term, assess previous performance, and address key issues affecting education in the state. It was resolved that boarding students would resume on Sunday, 14th September, while day students would resume on Monday, 15th September. Teaching activities are expected to begin immediately on the 15th, with the term running for 14 weeks and ending on Friday, 12th December, 2025.

The Ministry stressed the importance of strict adherence to the approved school calendar by both public and private schools. Discussions also centered around improving service delivery through monitoring and evaluation by Area Offices, organizing refresher trainings for teachers, and maintaining security and cleanliness in all school environments.

Efforts to enhance the learning environment through school maintenance and tree planting were also highlighted, as well as the need for improved communication between schools, education officers, and the Ministry. The meeting also reviewed preparations for external examinations, addressed concerns around staff absenteeism, and reaffirmed the government’s stance on curbing the activities of illegal private schools operating within the state.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to quality education and a well-coordinated academic calendar across all institutions in the state.
