Nasarawa State Ministry of Education Boosts School Standards With Quality Assurance Training

The Nasarawa State Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education’s Quality Assurance Department, has conducted a one-day capacity-building workshop to advance the implementation of the National Education Quality Assurance Policy.

The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. John Mamman, emphasized the critical need to equip evaluators with modern techniques for assessing teachers, noting that quality instruction is the foundation of effective education. The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mohammad Sani Bala, described the training as both timely and essential for uniting key stakeholders to share strategies that will drive the education sector forward.

He urged all participants to take the session seriously, as they will be responsible for sharing the knowledge gained within their respective areas.

In her opening address, the Director of Quality Assurance, Mrs. Bello, stated that the workshop provided participants with updated evaluation methodologies aligned with national standards.

A key segment of the event featured technical presentations by Federal Evaluators from the Lafia office, who covered various aspects of educational evaluation.

The training brought together directors from the State Ministry of Education, chief evaluation officers, monitoring and evaluation officers from all 29 area offices, State PTA officials, representatives from private school associations, and education union groups

This initiative represents a major effort to enhance quality assurance systems and elevate teaching standards throughout Nasarawa State.
