Jahr Forum Criticizes Development Association's Letter to Governor Mutfwang

The Jahr Patriotic Forum has strongly criticized a recent letter sent by the Jahr Development Association (JDA) to Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, condemning its language as "loaded with ultimatum, insults, intimidation, and threats."

Speaking at the Plateau State Council of the NUJ Press Centre in Jos, representatives of the Forum jointly signed a statement outlining their objections. Hon. Dayyabu Garga Galadiman Jahr addressed the media on behalf of the group, which included Hon. Aliyu S. Ali, Deputy Chairman of Kanam LGA, and Hon. Ado Yusuf Danboyi Saudana Jahr.

A key point of dispute was the JDA letter's claim that Jahr people "are no longer needed in Plateau State." Hon. Garga firmly rejected this, stating, "The Jahr people have been integral to Plateau State since pre-colonial times and are legitimate citizens."

The Forum also challenged the JDA's assertion that Governor Mutfwang has never addressed insecurity within the Jahr Chiefdom. Calling this a "blatant lie," the Forum praised the Governor's broader efforts in tackling insecurity across the state.

"The continued silence and lack of action [by the JDA caretaker committee on this alleged misrepresentation] are unacceptable and constitute a breach of duty," Hon. Garga stated. The Forum views the JDA letter as "a direct confrontation with the sitting government."

Expressing deep concern, the Jahr Patriotic Forum cautioned the JDA's caretaker committee to cease actions it perceives as inciting people against the government. It further called upon the Ra'an Jahr, the community's traditional ruler, to dissolve the current caretaker committee and establish a new one with a clear mandate and timeframe to conduct elections.

Despite the internal conflict, the Forum reaffirmed its loyalty and support to the Plateau State Government, pledging to provide necessary information and logistics to help achieve the government's objectives
