SENATOR SUNDAY KATUNG DONATES FOOD ITEMS, N11M TO ORPHANS AND WIDOWS IN SOUTHERN KADUNA

In celebration of his birthday and that of his mother, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone, has donated food items and the sum of eleven million naira (N11,000,000) to orphans and widows across his constituency.  

The donations were made separately at the Rafiki Orphanage Home in Ungwan Rimi Bajju, the ECWA Widows Training School in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, and the Gweimen Centre in Jaba Local Government Area.  

Senator Katung, represented by Ali Kalat, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly for Jema’a Constituency, explained that the gesture was driven by his commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society. He noted that giving back to the less privileged on his birthday is an annual tradition he plans to uphold. 

Gideon Gwani, Chairman of the Distribution Committee, disclosed that the items included 25 bags of rice, cartons of Indomie noodles, semolina, and spaghetti for each location. Gwani emphasized that the initiative reflects the lawmaker’s dedication to fostering unity, love, and kindness within his constituency.  

Hon. Daniel Amos, Member of the National Assembly for Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, congratulated Senator Katung and his mother on their birthdays, reaffirming the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) commitment to providing quality leadership in the region. He expressed his wishes for the Senator’s long life and continued service to the people.  

Rev. Yunusa Madu, former ECWA General Secretary, and Alhaji Alhassan Garba, Jama’atu Nasril Islam Chairman for Jema’a, commended the Senator for his humanitarian efforts. They highlighted the spiritual significance of assisting orphans and widows, describing it as a noble act that earns divine reward.  

Hon. Edward Percy Masha, Kaduna State PDP Chairman, praised Senator Katung for elevating the party’s reputation through his philanthropy. He urged other well-meaning individuals to follow the Senator’s example in supporting the less fortunate.  

Cornelius Samuel (Rafiki Orphanage Home), Mrs. Sarah Bature (ECWA Widows Training School), and Dr. Felicia Kegang (Gweimen Centre) expressed gratitude for the donations, acknowledging the Senator’s consistent kindness.
