By Abubakar Labaran
Honourable Wilson Yangye, a stakeholder, philanthropist and advocate for good governance, has led over 700 supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ghauta, Jema'a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The event was a historic homecoming and reception, as friends, family, political associates and well-wishers came out en masse to witness the grand occasion.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, who was represented by his Counsellor on Political Affairs, Honourable Ado Dogo Audu, welcomed Wilson back to the APC, describing his return as timely given the party's need for his support.
The Governor noted that Wilson's departure from the APC was a loss to the party owing to his capacity and quality leadership style, which have attracted a large following. He assured him of equal treatment enjoyed by all members, stressing that the party is home to all progressives.
In his remarks, the member representing the area in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Honourable Ali Kalat, stated that Wilson's return to the APC is a clear sign that victory is certain in Barde Ward in the 2027 general elections across all categories, considering Wilson's political influence in the area.
Ali Kalat urged the people to continue giving their unflinching support to the government and the party, citing key projects established by the APC in Southern Kaduna, including the University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, and the Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan, among others.
He thanked Wilson for his decision and appealed to him to continue serving the party for total victory in 2027.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Jema'a Local Government Area, Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara, who was represented by Honourable Austin Yibin, the Kagoma Ward APC Stakeholder Chairman, described Wilson's return to the APC as a welcome development that will boost the strength and unity of the party in Ghauta, Kagoma Ward and Jema'a Local Government at large.
He reiterated Dogara's commitment to uniting, accommodating and carrying everyone along.
In his response, Wilson expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty and to all who found time out of their busy schedules to honour him. He thanked the APC family for accepting him back with open arms and pledged his total loyalty and commitment to working for the victory and progress of the party.
He especially appreciated Peter Tanko Dogara for his fatherly love and for sending a high-powered representation led by Hon. Austin Yibin.
"Indeed, today in Ghauta we saw that APC is one big, united and accommodating family. The massive turnout is a clear message that our people are united and our party is getting stronger by the day," he said.
