A coalition of youth support groups has formally re-endorsed Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu as its choice for Governor of Nasarawa State in the 2027 general elections, as the state commemorates its 30th anniversary.

The Coalition of Youth Support Group for Wadada 2027 made the declaration on Thursday, October 1, 2027, during a press conference held to mark the anniversary. The conference was themed: "Nasarawa State at 30: The Need for Continuity, Consolidation and Sustainability of the Gains."

Addressing journalists, the coalition recalled the creation of Nasarawa State from the former Plateau State on October 1, 1996, and paid tribute to past and present leaders of the state, including military administrators Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim and Lt-Col. Bala Mohammed Mande, and civilian governors Sen. Dr. Abdullahi Adamu, Alh. Aliyu Akwe Doma, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, and the incumbent, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, who has been in office since 2019.

The group described itself as a conglomeration of about 22 youth and support groups working for Senator Wadada and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to the coalition, it has an established structure from state level to polling units with over 4,000 officials, aimed at grassroots mobilization and community engagement.

As part of its activities, the coalition said it has earmarked 170 communities for engagement across the state, targeting youth-group leaders, women leaders, and traditional and community leaders. It disclosed that it has so far engaged 10 communities, describing the visits as an important beginning for listening and relationship building.

In its anniversary message, the coalition commended the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule for efforts in investment drive, youth opportunity, rural and urban infrastructure, and fiscal prudence.

It cited the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy, the establishment of the Nasarawa Investment and Development Agency, and investment projects involving Avatar New Energy Materials, Azgard Mining and Processing Plant, and the Nasarawa Technology Village. It also acknowledged completed and ongoing rural and urban roads, township roads, street lighting projects, as well as interventions in education and health, including the recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff.

"The best way to honour a record of progress is to preserve what works, improve what needs attention, and ensure that public investment delivers lasting value," the coalition stated.

Speaking on the rationale for its endorsement, the group said continuity means protecting useful institutions and completing sound projects, while consolidation and sustainability mean making gains stronger and ensuring they endure.

"On behalf of the Coalition of Youth Support Group for Wadada 2027 and the leaders of young people across Nasarawa State, we hereby formally re-endorse Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu as our choice for Governor in 2027," the statement read.

The coalition said it considers Wadada the strongest choice among aspirants, with broad acceptability across the state, and expressed confidence in his capacity to win the election and build on existing foundations.

It referenced Wadada's published HEARTS Agenda, which covers Human Capital Development; Energy and Mineral Resources; Agriculture and the Green Economy; Rural and Urban Development; Trade, Investment and Industry; and Security, saying the framework can complement and consolidate the gains of the present administration.

The coalition called on residents of the state, particularly youths, women, community leaders, and first-time voters, to participate peacefully in the democratic process and support Wadada's emergence, while urging all parties to reject division, intimidation, and inflammatory language.

"We value Senator Wadada's public-service experience and his emphasis on practical development priorities," the group said, adding that Nasarawa needs leadership that listens across communities, treats youth as partners, supports women's participation, and attracts responsible investment.

The coalition appreciated communities already visited for their reception and said under the coordination of Comr. Jaafar Muhammad Loko, it would continue its engagements across the remaining communities.

"As Nasarawa State turns 30, let us honour our past, recognise progress, speak honestly about the work ahead, and unite around a future in which every community and every generation can thrive," it stated.
