Federal Government Assumes Control of Pandam Wildlife Park to Tackle Insecurity and Enhance Tourism
Timescope News
The Nigerian Park Service (NPS) has formally assumed management of Pandam Wildlife Park, located in the Qua'an-Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, marking a significant shift in the park's administration.
The official transfer was conducted on Friday in Jos, with representatives from both the Plateau State Government and the National Park Service present.
This move is anticipated to revitalize the park, which had faced partial closure stemming from security challenges, neglect, and encroachment by criminal elements.
The Plateau State Government indicated that the takeover would enhance security, generate employment prospects, and stimulate tourism within the region.
Ibrahim Goni, the Conservator-General of the National Park Service, gave assurances that Pandam would continue to be a cherished heritage of the Plateau people, emphasizing that federal oversight would usher in greater development, tourism prospects, and improved security for the area.
