By Nick Yashi
In a highly emotional meeting, the Federal Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Dr Bernard Doro, paid a visit to his secondary school teacher, 84 year old Mrs Elizabeth Gai, in her native Miango, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau state.
Doro, who posted a message on his official Facebook page, described the moment as “deeply humbling and emotional”.
He also eulogized Mrs Gai for the role she played in shaping his journey through life.
“As part of my ongoing community engagement tour, I had the privilege of visiting Mrs. Elizabeth Gai, my former English Language and Social Studies teacher from secondary school.
“It was a deeply humbling and emotional moment to reconnect with a teacher who contributed significantly to my formative years. Our teachers plant seeds of knowledge, discipline, and character whose impact often lasts a lifetime.
“I remain grateful for her guidance, dedication, and the invaluable role she played in shaping my journey. Honouring our teachers is a reminder that every achievement is built on the sacrifices and commitment of those who taught us.
“Thank you, Mrs. Elizabeth Gai, for the lessons that continue to inspire me,” he stated.
