Middle Belt Group Pledges 6 Million Votes for Tinubu/Shettima, Inaugurates Leadership for 2027 Drive

The Pan-Middle Belt Movement for Tinubu/Shettima 2027 has officially inaugurated its national leadership and launched a grassroots mobilization campaign across the region, with an ambitious target of securing at least six million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 presidential election.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Abuja, drew stakeholders and representatives from across the Middle Belt, signaling the start of a coordinated political effort aimed at boosting grassroots participation and championing the region's developmental interests.

The movement was initiated by Distinguished Senator Sunday Marshall Katung in collaboration with other regional stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, the Convener, Honourable Comrade Edward John Auta, described the organization as a platform for the Middle Belt people to engage meaningfully in the political process while voicing issues critical to the region.

"Our target deliverable is a minimum of six million votes for the President and the Vice President in 2027 from the Middle Belt," Auta declared.

He stressed that achieving this goal would demand sustained mobilization from the national level down to states, local government areas, and community levels.

The movement's Patron, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Samuel Atung, urged members to shed what he called the "minority syndrome" and place collective interests above ethnic, religious, and political divides.

Atung emphasized that the Middle Belt shares a common destiny and must unite to advance its cause. He also pointed to federal appointments and development projects under the Tinubu administration including infrastructure works and the establishment of a university and Federal Medical Centre in Southern Kaduna as evidence of the administration's attention to the region.

The movement's national structure includes Vice President Kashim Shettima as Grand Patron, Atung as Patron, Auta as Convener, and Hon. Abubakar Isa as Co-Convener.

Other key officers are: Horyen Shaiyen (National Secretary), Ango Bally (Deputy National Secretary), Bomba Dauda (Director of Media and Publicity), Barr. Emmanuel Hundu (Director of Organising), Tanko Rossi Sabo (National Director of Mobilisation), Dr. Ibrahim Habu Ekpo (Director of Contact and Strategy), Dr. Margaret Bija (Director of Welfare), Barr. Simeon Wujat (Legal Adviser), and Hon. Usman Umoru (National Auditor), among others.

The movement resolved to commence grassroots mobilization immediately, with state structures tasked with establishing organizations down to the local government level.

It also disclosed plans to seek a meeting between its National Steering Committee and Vice President Shettima to formally present its structure and objectives, as well as to discuss regional concerns.

Members were charged with engaging governors, legislators, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community heads, and other stakeholders across the Middle Belt.

The organization said its activities would extend beyond electoral mobilization to address development, security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and broader regional interests.

Media and Publicity Director Bomba Dauda called for a coordinated media strategy and urged members to share credible information on community activities to strengthen public communication.

The movement also announced plans for a national executives' retreat focused on team building, strategic planning, and refining mechanisms for achieving its 2027 targets.

It reaffirmed its commitment to delivering at least six million votes for Tinubu and Shettima while ensuring that the Middle Belt's political participation translates into meaningful representation and tangible development for the region.
