Troops from Sector 7 of Operation ENDURING PEACE have detained six suspected logistics suppliers for terrorist networks, recovering a stockpile of firearms during a routine stop-and-search operation in Kaduna State.
The incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. on Monday at the Samaru checkpoint, located in Samaru Village, Zonkwa District of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area. Military sources say the suspects were travelling from Jos, Plateau State, toward Niger State in an ash-coloured Mercedes-Benz with registration number EDO GUE-722-LV.
In a statement, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, confirmed that troops seized three AK-47 rifles, four sub-machine guns, and the vehicle used by the suspects.
One suspect attempted to flee during the interception but was quickly overpowered; he is now reported to be in stable condition and is cooperating with investigators. All six individuals and the recovered items remain in military custody for further interrogation and intelligence exploitation.
Operation ENDURING PEACE praised local residents for their vigilance and urged the public to continue reporting suspicious movements or activities to security agencies without delay.
