Barr. Nuhu J. Egya, LLM, Notary Public and National President of the Nasarawa State University (NSUK) Alumni Association Worldwide, has successfully completed the 13th China-Africa Legal Professionals Exchange Program, held across Guangzhou and Shenzhen in the People’s Republic of China.

The three-week intensive programme, which brought together legal practitioners from across the African continent, focused on capacity building, legal diplomacy, and cross-continental knowledge sharing. Barr. Egya who also chairs the Citizens Liberties Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association distinguished himself by delivering a scholarly paper, earning him the prestigious Certificate of Excellent Participant.

Beyond the formal sessions, Egya leveraged the opportunity to strengthen institutional ties. He visited the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and several universities in Shenzhen, exploring potential alumni linkages and academic partnerships with his alma mater, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). His itinerary also included stops in Hong Kong and Ningbo, where he engaged with legal and academic bodies to foster international collaboration.

The China-Africa Legal Professionals Exchange Program is designed to deepen mutual understanding of legal systems, promote the rule of law, and forge stronger professional networks between Chinese and African legal experts.

Egya’s participation is expected to unlock new avenues for NSUK alumni and the university at large particularly in legal education, joint research, and global partnership opportunities. He is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Sunday.
