Jema'a LG Chairman Honored with Prestigious Gwong Traditional Title

The Executive Chairman of Jema'a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, popularly known as Halinka Jarin Ka, has been conferred with the esteemed traditional title of Let Gwong (Garkuwan Gwong) by the Kpop Gwong, His Highness Col. Paul Zakka Wyom.

The honor was bestowed on the council chairman in recognition of his outstanding contributions to education, youth empowerment, community development, and prudent leadership in public service, according to a statement obtained by this reporter.

The Gwong Traditional Council noted that Hon. Dogara has distinguished himself through the provision of scholarships to indigent students, facilitation of employment opportunities for qualified youths, support for educational advancement, and the implementation of people-oriented initiatives that have positively impacted communities across the Gwong Chiefdom and beyond.

The Council further highlighted that his commitment to improving the lives of the people, particularly the less privileged, earned him widespread admiration and made him worthy of the revered title.

Hon. Dogara succeeds the late Distinguished Senator Babale K. Maikarfi, who held the title of Let Gwong (Garkuwan Gwong) for several decades and was celebrated for his service to the Gwong people.

Speaking on the conferment, the Gwong Traditional Council said the recognition was aimed at appreciating and encouraging exemplary leadership, selfless service, and dedication to community development. The Council expressed confidence that the honor would inspire the Jema'a chairman to continue his developmental and humanitarian efforts while serving as a source of motivation for other leaders to prioritize the welfare of their people.

The conferment has been widely welcomed by community leaders, political associates, and residents, who described the honor as a fitting recognition of Hon. Dogara's contributions to the growth and development of the Gwong Chiefdom, Jema'a Local Government Area, and Kaduna State at large.
