Hon. Amos Launches Major Agricultural, Security, and Solar Initiatives for Jema'a/Sanga Constituency

The Member representing Jema'a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Daniel Amos, has officially launched the distribution of 2,000 bags of assorted fertilisers to farmers, the installation of 900 solar-powered lights in communities and places of worship, as well as the donation of 40 motorcycles to security agencies across the constituency.

The interventions, launched Thursday at the lawmaker's constituency office in Kafanchan, are designed to boost agricultural productivity, improve community security, and expand access to renewable energy in Jema'a and Sanga Local Government Areas.

Represented at the event by the Caucus Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Ali Kalat, the lawmaker emphasised that the programmes reflect his commitment to responsive representation and people-centred development. He noted that governance should be measured by its positive impact on citizens' lives rather than by policies and pronouncements alone.

The fertiliser distribution aims to ease the burden of rising farm input costs and enhance food production across the constituency, addressing the urgent needs of farmers struggling with agricultural expenses.

The 900 solar-powered lights will illuminate churches, mosques, and strategic public spaces, making communities safer while encouraging social and economic activities after dark. Daniel Amos highlighted that this initiative underscores his commitment to sustainable development through renewable energy adoption.

The donation of 40 motorcycles to security agencies is expected to improve mobility, strengthen surveillance, and enhance rapid response to security challenges, particularly in remote rural communities.

The lawmaker stressed that these interventions are interconnected, designed to holistically address critical needs by strengthening agriculture, enhancing security, and improving quality of life.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely interventions. Mr. Yahaya Makadi, Chairman of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, Jema'a Local Government chapter, noted that the fertiliser support arrived when many farmers were struggling with high input costs.

Mr. Yohanna Duniya, a farmer from Sanga Local Government Area, commended the planned solar installations in churches and communities, stating the project would improve security and make evening activities safer.

A representative from one of the benefiting security agencies described the motorcycle donation as a major boost to operations, enabling personnel to respond more quickly to distress calls in rural areas.

The event attracted traditional rulers, religious leaders, political stakeholders, community representatives, security agencies, and women and youth groups from across Jema'a and Sanga Federal Constituency.
