PDP Candidate Chief Banbella Vows to Break "Federal Presence" Jinx in Nasarawa North, Predicts 2027 Victory

Chief Banbella Anthony Madaki, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the 2027 elections, has declared that his track record of grassroots development makes him the clear choice to represent the district, promising to end the zone's long-standing neglect by the federal government.

In an exclusive interview with Timescope News, Chief Madaki argued that his experience in transforming his immediate community serves as a proof  to his capability, stating that a candidate tested at the local level has already earned the public's trust.

"Going to the national assembly is to serve the people," Madaki said. "If you have been tested at the lower level and you have been able to successfully transform your immediate community, there shouldn't be any reason why people will not trust you."

The candidate also sought to convince voters that the PDP is a party of internal democracy and fairness. He argued that unlike the ruling party, which he claimed forces unpopular candidates on the people through imposition, the PDP either reaches a consensus among its members or conducts genuine, free, and fair primaries where everyone's vote counts. He pointed out that in other parties, some contestants became so frustrated with the heavy-handed tactics that they abandoned the process entirely something he said does not happen in the PDP.

Chief Madaki's manifesto centers on "quality representation" and accessibility, a direct critique of past representatives whom he accused of being detached from the electorate. He lamented the lack of federal projects in the senatorial district.

"Within our senatorial district, we have not been able to attract any federal presence here," he lamented. "Those who have served before now have detached themselves from the people."

Looking ahead to the 2027 polls, the PDP flagbearer expressed steadfast confidence, describing the Nasarawa North election as "predictable" based on the people's aspirations. He acknowledged that the recent by-election was  influenced by "money and  force" used to suppress voters but insisted that the electorate has taken note of such tactics.

"Except a miracle is performed, I will win the election come 2027," Madaki asserted. He urged the people to resist financial inducements and make a "wise decision" that reflects their true interests, promising that the opposition would be better prepared to counter anti-democratic forces in the upcoming general election.
