The Threshing Floor Watchman Assembly Incorporation has consecrated and installed Ovye John-Attah as a new Bishop to oversee its churches in Nasarawa State.
The installation ceremony, which took place on Saturday at the church’s headquarters in Lafia, Nasarawa State, drew hundreds of worshippers, ministers, and guests from across the state.
Speaking at the installation and consecration service, Archbishop Gimbright Adaigho, General Overseer of the church, described the new Bishop as a servant of God tested in doctrine, character, and service. He charged the Bishop, other ministers, and members of the church to continue pursuing holiness, unity, and evangelism to win more souls for Christ.
The Archbishop urged Christians to remain steadfast amid the current economic and security challenges confronting the nation.
Adaigho stressed that given what is currently going on in the country, the nation needs more intercessors than politicians at this time to help the people overcome these challenges.
In his message, the new Bishop pledged to build on the foundation laid and to strengthen the church’s mandate of watching, praying, and preaching the undiluted word of God.
“My assignment is simple: to watch over the flock, raise watchmen for the nation, and ensure that the Threshing Floor remains a place where destinies are transformed,” he said.
In his goodwill message, Rev. Sunday Emmah, Nasarawa State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), congratulated the new Bishop and urged him to use his office to promote peace and unity among Christians and adherents in the state and beyond.
The event featured praise and worship, ordination rites, and goodwill messages from the clergy and traditional rulers in attendance. Among those present were family and friends of the Bishop, Rev. Sunday Emmah, traditional rulers, representatives of other Pentecostal denominations, and government officials.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Threshing Floor Watchman Assembly Incorporation is known for its emphasis on prayer, holiness, and prophetic ministry, and it operates several branches across the 13 local government areas of the state.
Some members of the church who spoke to newsmen said they expect a new season of growth and revival under the new Bishop, to the glory of God. (NAN)
