LGSC Staff Hail Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi’s Transformative Leadership One Year On

By John Dogo Wada, Lafia

Staff of the Nasarawa State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) have commended their chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Abdullahi, for the various positive initiatives he has implemented at the commission within just one year of his leadership. According to them, the commission has recorded significant and meaningful progress under his watch.

The staff expressed their views while speaking with our correspondent, John Wada, about their assessment of Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Abdullahi’s leadership style over the past year.

They noted that they must continue to commend him, especially considering how he has been managing the affairs of the commission—which oversees all 13 local government areas of the state—with integrity, accountability, and a fatherly approach that unites all staff toward achieving the commission’s goals across all sectors since he assumed office a year ago.

The staff who were interviewed listed some of the notable achievements of their chairman within just one year. These include: resolving internal and external disputes affecting all 13 local government areas, uniting local government chairpersons, ensuring good relations between the local governments and the Nasarawa State government, guaranteeing that all staff entitlements such as salaries and allowances are regularly paid, and improving the work system at the commission. As a result, all staff are now working diligently, unlike the situation before his arrival.

They added that Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Abdullahi also organizes special meetings with all staff, where he encourages them on the need to work hard to achieve the commission’s objectives, and sponsors them for training programs to broaden their skills, among other initiatives.

The LGSC staff also took the opportunity to commend the state governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, for what they described as a wise decision in appointing Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Abdullahi to the position. They said his appointment has clearly proven worthwhile, as their assessment shows that the commission has never had a better, more capable, and more organized chairman.

When asked about their special message to their chairman, they all said they sincerely urge him to continue his commendable service to the people of the state as a whole, especially in rural areas, through the commission. They stated that only Allah can reward him for it, and on their part, they pledged to continue giving him their full support and cooperation to enable him to sustain the good developmental work he has been doing at the commission so far.

our correspondent reports that Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Abdullahi, who heads the commission overseeing all 13 local government areas of the state, is one of the heads of key state government agencies appointed by Governor Engineer Abdullahi Sule last year. Their appointments were later confirmed by the State House of Assembly, and they began work one year ago, in 2025.
