Defection Reports ‘False and Malicious’ – Akabe Campaign Organization

Lafia, Nasarawa State – The Akabe Campaign Organization has dismissed as entirely false a report claiming that the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, is planning to defect to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) following the recently concluded senatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a press statement released to journalists, the campaign organization described the allegation as “misleading, malicious, and a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and create unnecessary political tension.”

According to the statement, the Deputy Governor and his supporters would ordinarily have ignored such baseless claims. However, the organization noted that certain “mischievous elements” have been making sustained efforts to blackmail Dr. Akabe over what many regard as his “stolen mandate,” making it necessary to set the records straight.

The campaign organization reaffirmed Dr. Akabe’s longstanding commitment to the APC, noting that he served meritoriously as a Commissioner during the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) administration and currently serves as Deputy Governor under the APC-led government in the state.

“Despite the prevailing political challenges, Dr. Akabe has continued to demonstrate absolute commitment to the unity, growth, and success of the APC,” the statement read. “His contributions to governance and development in Nasarawa State are visible, dependable, and beyond dispute.”

The organization accused the sponsors of the false publication of being “enemies of progress” determined to tarnish the Deputy Governor’s hard-earned reputation and create division within the party.

“For the avoidance of doubt,” the statement added, “Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe remains a proud and loyal member of the APC and has no intention whatsoever of leaving the party for the SDP or any other political platform. His commitment to the ideals, values, and leadership of the APC remains firm, resolute, and unshakable regardless of the outcome of the senatorial primaries or his future political engagements.”
