2027: 'Time for Competence Over Zoning' – Abu Giza Picks Up ZLP Guber Forms, Vows to Rebuild Nasarawa
By John Dogo Wada, Lafia
A governorship aspirant in Nasarawa State, Abubakar Giza, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 gubernatorial election under the platform of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), pledging to build a productive, secure, and people-centered state if elected.
Giza made the declaration during an official gathering attended by party faithful, supporters, and stakeholders at the party secretariat in Lafia. He explained that his decision to join the ZLP was informed by its core ideals of equity, justice, and development.
The gubernatorial hopeful noted that the ZLP represents unity, collective progress, and equal opportunity for all citizens, stressing that the party believes in people moving together with one purpose to achieve greater goals for society.
He emphasised the need for a credible democratic process, pointing out that unlike some political parties battling prolonged division and litigation, the ZLP remains united to deliver for Nigeria.
“Unlike other political parties with series of litigations in courts and internal factions, the Zenith Labour Party has distinguished itself as being different, without any of such problems,” Giza said.
Speaking on his vision, Giza vowed that his administration would prioritise economic revitalisation and job creation in order to empower youths and reduce poverty across the state.
He slammed the ruling party for considering zoning ahead of competence and credibility, urging residents to vote for leaders with genuine integrity.
Also speaking, the state party chairman, Cletus Ogah, expressed optimism about Giza’s aspiration, insisting that the party is for all.
Ogah explained that aspirants between the ages of 25 and 29 would obtain the interest forms free of charge
