Tragedy in Gidan Waya: Council Boss Vows Justice After Deadly Vigilante Attack

The Executive Chairman of Jema’a Local Government, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, has visited Gidan Waya following the recent attack on a vigilante post in the area.
During the visit, the Chairman accompanied by senior government officials and security operatives assessed the situation on the ground and commiserated with families affected by the tragic incident, which claimed the lives of four vigilante personnel and a student.
The Chairman condemned the attack, describing it as a senseless act that has no place in a peaceful society. He urged residents, particularly youths, to remain calm, law-abiding, and to resist any form of retaliation.
He assured that the Local Government, in collaboration with security agencies, is taking decisive steps to ensure that all those responsible are brought to justice. He noted that progress is already being made in ongoing security operations.
The Chairman also conveyed the condolences of the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, who he said is deeply concerned about the development and has directed that all necessary measures be taken to safeguard lives and property.
Security authorities have confirmed that an informant has been apprehended in connection with the attack, while arms and other items used by the assailants have been recovered. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of the Jema’a Local Government to sustaining peace and strengthening security across all communities.
