NSUK Alumni Association Unveils N250m Female Hostel Project at Maiden Reunion Dinner in Abuja

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Alumni Association has unveiled plans for a 400-bed female hostel at the university’s main campus in Keffi, valued at over N250 million.

In a statement signed by God'spower Ede made available to Timescope News said the project was announced by the Association’s President, Barr. Nuhu J. Egya, during the maiden Reunion Dinner and Award Night held on Saturday, 25th April 2026, at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

According to Egya, the edifice, when completed, will address the acute shortage of accommodation for female students on campus and also serve as a long-term revenue source for the Association.

"This project will stand as a legacy of this administration and a testament to what we can achieve together. I appeal to all alumni, home and abroad, to contribute generously towards its full realization,” Egya said.

The President, who highlighted milestones recorded in less than one year in office, commended members for their support and urged privileged alumni to deepen their commitment to the Association’s development agenda.

The historic dinner, described as an evening of “reconnection, excitement, and camaraderie,” assembled the crème de la crème of NSUK alumni. 

A major highlight was the presentation of Distinguished Excellence Awards to 36 individuals for their contributions to society and the university.

Awardees included Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule; Founder of the University, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu; Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman; SSG, Barr. Shuaibu Labaran Magaji; Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Dr. Pius Ukeyima; Protocol Liaison Officer to the President, Amb. Yakubu Musa; and Chief of Protocol to Nigeria’s First Lady, Amb. Henry Omaku, among others.

Guest speakers at the event lauded the Association’s developmental strides and pledged support for the university’s pursuit of academic excellence. They also condemned "recent social media propaganda” targeted at disparaging NSUK’s postgraduate programmes, reaffirming confidence in the institution’s standards.

The night climaxed with a poolside after-party that lasted into the early hours of Sunday, as alumni wined, dined, and danced to a mix of classic and contemporary tunes.
