By Abubakar Labaran

The Executive Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Mr. Peter Tanko Dogara, has commended Governor Uba Sani for his commitment to the development of the education sector in the state.

Tanko gave the commendation while inspecting ongoing renovation and construction works at the Kaduna State University (KASU), Kafanchan Campus. He described the governor’s intervention in repositioning the institution as a clear demonstration of the priority his administration places on education.

The chairman expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work across key facilities, including the library, hostels, and multipurpose hall.

“These facilities will serve students for many years to come. I urge the contractors to maintain high standards and deliver a solid job without compromise,” he said.

“This project reflects the governor’s sustained commitment to impactful development in Jema’a Local Government.”

Tanko also called for increased student admissions and staffing at the Kafanchan campus to complement the improved infrastructure.

The College Secretary, Badung Kumai, who led the inspection tour on behalf of the Administrator, Prof. Hauwa Evelyn Yusuf, said the project marked the first major renovation at the campus in over 14 years. He noted that the ongoing work, which is about 45 to 50 percent complete, would significantly enhance teaching and learning conditions.

“This development will revitalise the campus. For over a decade, there has been no major renovation, so this effort is highly commendable,” Kumai said.

In his remarks, an APC stakeholder and Chairman of the Majalisan Falke Political group, Alhaji Ali, who led a delegation of party supporters and accompanied the chairman to the event, praised Governor Sani for the attention given to the area in all aspects of development. Alhaji Ali pledged continued support for the administration and expressed optimism that the electorate would reciprocate the governor’s efforts.

In separate remarks, Mr. Amos Samaila, Jema’a APC Chairman, and Mr. Armstrong Maichibi, Majority Leader of the Jema’a Legislative Council, commended Governor Uba Sani for presenting the face of quality leadership to the people of Kaduna South Senatorial District and the state in general. Against this backdrop, they appealed to the people to continue supporting the chairman and the governor to pave the way for meaningful development in the area.

Also speaking, the campus student leader, Mato Hillary, said the improved learning environment would positively impact students’ academic performance. He urged students to make proper use of the facilities and ensure they are well maintained to prevent deterioration.
