NASHIA Backs CiCMED's Health & Empowerment Drive for 2,500 Women in Nasarawa North

In a major breakthrough for grassroots development, the Community Initiative for Character Moulding and Entrepreneurship Development (CiCMED) has secured the official endorsement and partnership of the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) to implement the Nasarawa North Women Health Insurance & Economic Empowerment Initiative.

The endorsement was granted during a high-level strategic engagement held yesterday with the management team of NASHIA. During the meeting, CiCMED formally presented the framework of the initiative under its flagship Happy World Community Initiative.

The program is designed to enroll 2,500 vulnerable women across Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas into the state health insurance scheme, thereby granting them access to quality and affordable healthcare services. Beyond health coverage, the initiative features a robust economic empowerment component that will equip 500 women with poultry starter kits, fostering income generation and strengthening household livelihoods.

The initiative has been dedicated as the 2026 Legacy Thank You Project for His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, in recognition of his administration's transformative investments in healthcare infrastructure—most notably the establishment of the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, which has significantly enhanced healthcare delivery within the zone.

Speaking after the meeting, representatives of CiCMED expressed profound gratitude to the management of NASHIA for their unwavering commitment to expanding health insurance coverage across the state and for their readiness to collaborate with community-driven initiatives that uplift vulnerable populations.

With the endorsement now formalized, CiCMED will immediately commence community mobilization, beneficiary identification, and enrollment preparations in close collaboration with NASHIA and other key stakeholders, ahead of the official launch of the initiative.

The Happy World Initiative continues to champion community-centered development programs focused on health, economic empowerment, and leadership engagement across Nasarawa State.
