LAFIA, Nigeria – The Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice has publicly disowned a suspect arrested in connection with the theft of an iPhone 17 Pro Max at the recent APC National Convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja.

In an official statement released by the Ministry’s management, authorities clarified that the suspect, identified as Mahmoud Abdullahi, is neither a staff member of the Ministry nor affiliated with it in any capacity.

“The Ministry categorically states that Mahmoud Abdullahi, who was apprehended in connection with the alleged theft, is not a staff member of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice, nor is he affiliated with the Ministry in any way,” the statement read.

While acknowledging that the incident reportedly occurred during the APC National Convention, the Ministry condemned attempts to link the suspect to its institution as “false, misleading, and should be disregarded.”

The Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, ethics, and the rule of law, emphasizing that it does not condone criminal activities or misconduct of any kind.

The Ministry also urged the public and media to verify information before dissemination to avoid reputational damage to credible institutions.
