Jema'a LG Chairman Honoured with Double Awards for Inclusive Leadership and Development

The Chairman of Jema'a Local Government, Honorable Peter Tanko Dogara, has been conferred with two separate awards of excellence in recognition of his developmental strides and inclusive leadership style.

The first honour came from a socio-political women's support and advocacy group, the Great Women Achievers In Politics. In a press release issued by the Information Officer of Jema'a Local Government, Mr. Simeon Sunday Dauda, the award was presented to the chairman on Wednesday during a solidarity visit to his office in Kafanchan.

Speaking before the presentation, the group's Coordinator, Mrs. Josephine Eli, explained that the decision to honour the chairman was a direct result of what she described as his impressive performance in key areas, particularly primary education, health, and rural development.

Mrs. Eli assured the chairman of the group's continued support and goodwill. She called on the women and the entire populace of Jema'a Local Government to rally behind him, encouraging him to fulfill his promise of bringing meaningful development to the area.

While receiving the award, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara thanked the group for the gesture, assuring them that it would spur him on to initiate and execute more policies and programs aimed at enhancing the living standards of the people.

He pledged the local government's support for the group's activities and confirmed that they would be included in the administration's upcoming youth and women's economic empowerment program. He explained that the program is designed to equip women and youths with the necessary skills, tools, and collaborative opportunities to achieve financial independence.

In a similar development, the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Kafanchan branch and its divisions, also presented a certificate of excellence to Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara.

Presenting the award during a courtesy visit to the chairman's office, the speaker for the delegation and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Adams Abdullazeez, stated that the certificate was a token of honour to appreciate the chairman for his inclusive leadership, commitment to economic development, and dedication to peaceful coexistence and the general welfare of the people.

Mr. Abdullazeez commended Hon. Dogara for running an inclusive administration, exemplified by the appointment of two society members, Mudasir Lawal and Aliyu Isa, to serve in his council. He promised the society's unwavering support and prayers for his success.

He also took the opportunity to thank the chairman for attending their functions, noting that Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara is the first chairman in Jema'a to enter their mosque in Kafanchan since its establishment in 1957.

In his response, the chairman expressed his gratitude to the Ansarudeen Society for considering him worthy of the award, which he described as a pleasant surprise.

Hon. Dogara explained that his decision to honour invitations from different religious groups is driven by his desire to deepen interfaith harmony and foster genuine unity and understanding among the area's diverse ethnic and religious populace.

He used the occasion to appeal for sustained, constructive interfaith dialogue as a strategy to promote peaceful coexistence in Jema'a Local Government. He called on religious leaders and citizens to pray for leaders at all levels of governance, especially the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Uba Sani, who he noted is making concerted efforts to improve infrastructural development across the state, assuring that prayers sustain good leadership.

The highlight of the visit included the presentation of the award and a special prayer session for the chairman, led by the Chief Imam of the Ansarudeen Society, Kafanchan, Mallam Abdulrazak Tajudeen.
