NASHIA Empowers Officers to Unlock Accessible, Quality Healthcare in Nasarawa South

NASHIA is ramping up its mission to bridge healthcare gaps for residents of Nasarawa State's southern zone. A recently concluded 3-day training for zonal officers, held in Obi Local Government Area, centered on a core objective: delivering quality, affordable healthcare that protects families from financial hardship.

Emphasizing the human impact behind the policy, Director of Marketing and Business Development, Mrs. Hadiza Dogara, outlined plans to amplify awareness of NASHIA's programmes across all 13 local government areas. "By deepening our grassroots engagement, we can drive enrollment and ensure every resident can access the scheme's benefits and financial risk protection," she stated.

Clarifying the sustainable framework behind the services, Mr. Reuben Aya, representing the Director of Finance and Accounting, explained that NASHIA operates through mandatory contributions, with pooled funds carefully allocated. He underscored the critical role of officers in maintaining precise records to ensure seamless capitation payments to healthcare providers.

The training also provided crucial guidance on accreditation standards. Mrs. Rahamat Mohammed, representing Pharmacist Kaki Maikudi Kudu, detailed the agency's quality assurance process. "We employ Integrated Quality Supportive Supervision (IQSS) to inspect facilities, ensuring they meet our standards for patient care and service delivery," she noted.

Through this capacity-building initiative, NASHIA reaffirms its commitment to making healthcare genuinely accessible and affordable. The agency continues to work hand-in-hand with stakeholders to transform this goal into a reality for all citizens of Nasarawa State.
