Business Leader Calls for Expansion of Adeosun's DashMe Initiative to Nasarawa

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lead Multipurpose and Media Consult Limited, Mr. Cheke Emmanuel, has commended former Finance Minister Mrs. Kemi Adeosun’s DashMe Initiative, a program aimed at improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable persons in Nigeria.

Speaking with journalists in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, on Wednesday, Emmanuel described the initiative as “one of the most deserving charity and humanitarian projects worldwide.”

He noted that the ₦500 million raised by DashMe to support orphans and vulnerable people reflects the character, compassion, and care Mrs. Adeosun has for the less privileged.

“As a company, we are ready to partner with DashMe to help drive this noble initiative centered on charity and humanitarian service,” Emmanuel said.

“We seek to actively collaborate with commitment toward realizing its objectives.”

Emmanuel also recalled Mrs. Adeosun’s previous role in coordinating the Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWiN! Connect) program under the former President Goodluck Jonathan administration, which aimed to create young entrepreneurs through training and grants.

“The first phase was successful, with hundreds of participants receiving grants to start businesses,” he stated.

“I took part in the second-phase masterclass in 2018. Unfortunately, after the change in administration, the expected grants were not disbursed, though the knowledge gained remained valuable.”

He called on the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government to reintroduce a similar youth entrepreneurship program to foster job creation and economic growth.

Emmanuel further urged the expansion of the DashMe Initiative to Nasarawa State, citing the state’s growing number of orphans, vulnerable persons, and internally displaced persons due to its proximity to the Federal Capital Territory.

He appealed to philanthropists, donor agencies, and governments to support DashMe and encouraged well-meaning individuals to emulate Mrs. Adeosun’s humanitarian efforts.
