Kaduna Revenue Boss,Jerry Adams, Brings Yuletide Cheer to 450 Widows, Attack Victims

By Abubakar Labaran

In a festive season outreach, the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Mr. Jerry Adams, has empowered 450 widows and victims of violence across eight Local Government Areas of Southern Kaduna with food items, cash, and clothing.

Each beneficiary received a bag of rice, cash, and a wrapper—support aimed at easing economic hardship and restoring dignity during the Yuletide.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at New Choice Hotel in Kafanchan, Adams shared that the initiative was inspired by personal experience, having been raised by a widowed mother after losing his father decades ago. He lamented the rising number of widows in the state, linking it to past insecurity, and praised ongoing efforts by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani to restore peace and hope.

Kaduna State Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe commended Adams for supporting vulnerable women during the season of goodwill, noting that the effort was “about restoring dignity and inspiring hope.”

Also in attendance were Mrs. Oghogho Musa, wife of the Minister of Defence, and Mrs. Abigail Marshall Katung, wife of Senator Sunday Katung, who described women as the bedrock of society and urged beneficiaries to stay united and contribute to community development.

The event drew support from Comrade Titus Amba, President of the Nigerian Union of Teachers and NLC Vice President, and former National Population Commissioner Dr. Abdulmalik Durunguwa. Both praised Adams’ initiative and called on other well-meaning individuals to follow his example.

Two beneficiaries, Grace Victor and Rhoda Ibrahim, expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying the gesture made them feel seen and valued. They offered prayers for Adams’ continued ability to help the downtrodden.

The occasion was widely acknowledged as a meaningful step toward solidarity and compassion during the festive period.
