Senator Katung Honored for Development Efforts by Cultural Group JIKA

KAGORO – Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South, was honored with a prestigious award by the Joint In Kingship Anthropology (JIKA) for his impactful developmental projects in  Southern Kaduna 

The presentation took place during JIKA's National and Cultural Festival 2025, held over the weekend in Kagoro, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Dr. James K. Barry, President of the socio-cultural organization, presented the award, praising Senator Katung for setting a record as a "worthy son of Southern Kaduna and Kaduna State." He highlighted the Senator's role in bringing rapid development that has had a direct and positive bearing on the zone and the state.

Dr. Barry urged the Senator to maintain this momentum, especially at a time when Nigeria, like many nations, is facing economic hardship and insecurity. "Despite the various challenges," Dr. Barry said, "we come together with renewed determination and unshaken faith that together we can overcome."

He further described JIKA as an anthropological, historical, and socio-cultural coalition of over twenty-five ethnic nationalities spanning numerous states across Nigeria and the diaspora.

Accepting the award on the Senator's behalf, his Senior Legislative Aide, Mr. Sunday Job Yabo, commended JIKA for the recognition. He stated that the honor would spur Senator Katung to redouble his efforts in serving the nation and its people.

Yabo also praised JIKA for its role in uniting ethnic groups worldwide to foster love, unity, and progress.

Through his aide, Senator Katung reiterated his commitment to continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people across every part of his constituency and its environs.
