Southern Kaduna Lawmaker Daniel Amos Defects to APC Ahead of Mega Rally

Kafanchan – In a significant political realignment, Hon. Daniel Amos, the Member representing Jema’a and Sanga Federal Constituency, has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made on Friday during a media parley with journalists in Kafanchan, just one day before the APC's Southern Kaduna Grand Mega Rally. The rally is scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Kafanchan New Township Stadium.

Hon. Amos stated that his decision was the result of deep reflection and extensive consultations with his constituents, community elders, and political allies. He highlighted the pivotal role of federal projects approved for the area by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The recent approval of the Federal University of Applied Sciences and the Federal Medical Centre, both in Kafanchan, were decisive factors,” Amos explained. “By aligning with the ruling party at the federal level, I can better collaborate to ensure the successful and timely implementation of these landmark projects, alongside other critical initiatives for our people.”

His defection marks a major coup for the APC in Southern Kaduna and is expected to energize the party's mega rally. The event will formally welcome a wave of new members, including Senator Sunday Marshall Katung and Hon. Amos, and will be attended by top APC leaders from the state and national level.

Political analysts view Amos's move as a substantial boost for the APC's influence in the region, significantly strengthening its base ahead of the 2027 general elections.

At the media parley, held at his constituency office, enthusiastic supporters cheered the defection, calling it a visionary step towards partnership with the federal government for accelerated development.
