Nasarawa Gratuity Committee Commends Gov. Sule for Releasing ₦300 Million for Retirees’ Gratuities


₦150m for State Gratuity, ₦150m for Local Government Retirees – as Committee Holds Quarterly Meeting in Lafia

The Nasarawa State Committee on Gratuity Disbursement has commended Governor Abdullahi A. Sule for the approval and prompt release of ₦300 million for the payment of gratuities to retirees.

The commendation was made during the committee’s quarterly meeting in Lafia, held under the policy guidance of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.

Chairing the meeting, the Committee's Co-Chairman and State Attorney General, Barr. Isaac Danladi, praised Governor Sule for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of retirees.

“Governor Abdullahi Sule deserves commendation for his prompt action and for keeping to his word. His leadership reflects compassion, accountability, and genuine concern for the welfare of retirees,” Barr. Danladi stated.

He clarified that the released funds are split equally, with ₦150 million designated for state retirees and another ₦150 million for local government retirees. He credited the committee's effectiveness to the Governor's approval and the supportive oversight of the Deputy Governor.

The committee expressed its collective appreciation to the Governor for prioritizing the welfare of retirees and for the ongoing efforts to clear outstanding gratuity arrears.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice; the Committee Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Michael; NUP Chairman, Alhaji Hudu Baba Abdullahi; NUP Secretary, Alhaji I. D. A. Usman; and the Chairman of the Concerned Group, Chief Patrick A. Ogah.
