Former GOC 3rd Armoured Division, Maj. Gen. Angbazo, Declares Governorship Ambition in Nasarawa; Receives Royal Blessing from Wakama Community

Former General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3rd Armoured Division, Major General  Nuhu Angbazo (rtd.), has officially declared his intention to contest the governorship seat of Nasarawa State in the upcoming elections.

The announcement came during a grand reception organized by his immediate community, Wakama, where traditional leaders, elders, and supporters gathered to endorse his political ambition and offer prayers for his success.

The event, held at the Wakama community square, witnessed an outpouring of support as speakers took turns to commend the retired general for his longstanding commitment to grassroots development and humanitarian interventions across the state. Community leaders highlighted his philanthropic efforts, particularly in providing educational support, healthcare initiatives, and empowerment programs for the less privileged and vulnerable groups in Nasarawa State.

In a symbolic gesture, the Wakama Traditional Council conferred blessings on Maj. Gen. Nuhu describing him as a "worthy son" capable of bringing transformative leadership to the state. A special prayer session was held, seeking divine guidance and victory in his political pursuit.

In his response, the retired general expressed deep gratitude to his kinsmen for their overwhelming endorsement and solidarity. He emphasized his vision for a more prosperous Nasarawa State, anchored on security, economic revitalization, and inclusive governance.

"I am deeply humbled by this show of love and confidence from my people," Maj. Gen. Nuhu stated." This journey is not about me alone; it is about the collective aspirations of every citizen of Nasarawa State. With your support, we shall build a state where opportunities abound for all."

While he affirmed his readiness to serve, the retired general remained discreet about the political platform under which he would contest, sparking speculation about possible alliances. Political analysts suggest that his military background and community-driven approach could make him a formidable candidate in the race.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, Maj. Gen. Nuhu Angbazo entry into the governorship race is expected to reshape the political dynamics in Nasarawa State, with many anticipating a highly competitive contest.
