SOUTH SOUTH ZONAL WORKING COMMITTEE OF THE PDP ISSUES WARNING TO DEBO OLOGUNAGBA; DECLARES HIM UNFIT TO SPEAK FOR THE PARTY

The South South Zonal Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Chief Dan Osi Orbih, has issued a stern warning to Mr. Debo Ologunagba, the Party's National Publicity Secretary, directing him to cease interference in matters concerning the Party’s affairs in the South South Zone and its constituent states.  

This rebuke follows Ologunagba’s recent inflammatory remarks criticizing Governors Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom and Elder Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta States for openly endorsing the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. The Committee further condemned his unsolicited commentary on Edo PDP during the Holy Week as "unholy and divisive."  

In a statement signed by Zonal Publicity Secretary Prince Etim Isong, the leadership accused Ologunagba of conflating personal opinions with official Party positions, declaring him "unfit to hold the sacred office of National Publicity Secretary."  

"The South South Zone is exhausted by Ologunagba’s recurrent embarrassing conduct," the statement read. "He must desist immediately from meddling in Zone-related affairs or risk severe repercussions."  

The Committee highlighted Ologunagba’s history of unguarded statements as a catalyst for internal crises, including the PDP’s failure to reclaim power in Ondo State. It also cited his carelessness as emboldening disrespect toward Party leaders, notably in the Governors’ Forum’s recent confrontational stance against the judiciary over the National Secretary’s office dispute.  

"The South South Zonal Working Committee reaffirms that Ologunagba lacks the credibility to represent the Party’s interests in this Zone," the statement concluded. "Further disregard for this warning will not be tolerated.
