Senator Lalong Donates Relief Materials to Shimankar Conflict Victims
Senator Simon Lalong, representing Plateau South Senatorial District, has donated bags of rice to victims of last month’s communal clashes in Shimankar, Shendam Local Government Area.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Makut Macham, Lalong reaffirmed his commitment to supporting and rebuilding the affected community.
While presenting the relief items to the Long Menkaat, Miskoom Manu Danjuma, the senator stated that his visit was to fulfill his earlier pledge to the people.
The traditional ruler expressed gratitude for Lalong’s dedication to serving his constituents, noting that this marked the senator’s second visit to Shimankar within a short period. He assured that the donation would significantly aid the affected victims.
The royal father also confirmed that normalcy had been restored in the community, with residents now coexisting peacefully.
Senator Lalong commended the traditional leader’s efforts and urged continued collaboration with security agencies to identify and address individuals attempting to disrupt peace in the area.
In a related development, Senator Lalong inspected school furniture procured for distribution to selected schools in his constituency. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with his ongoing efforts to enhance education by improving learning conditions
