Hon. Daniel Amos Reaffirms 10th Assembly’s Commitment to Laws Enhancing Governance, Citizens’ Welfare

The Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Daniel Amos, has reaffirmed the 10th Assembly’s dedication, particularly the House of Representatives, to enacting laws aimed at improving governance and the livelihoods of Nigerians.  

Amos made the declaration during a media briefing at his constituency office in Kafanchan over the weekend.  

He highlighted progress on a bill co-sponsored by himself and Speaker Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, which seeks to transfer full ownership of National Assembly properties from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to the legislature. The bill, now past its first reading, aims to address what lawmakers call an “anomaly” in the current structure.  

“This legislation will ensure the National Assembly owns all its properties, both domestically and internationally, ending our status as tenants under the FCTA,” Amos explained.  

The lawmaker, who chairs the House Committee on Services, also outlined his legislative contributions, including a motion on public urgency, a bill on LNG sustainability, and a proposal to establish the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, Kaduna State. He emphasized that the university would benefit not only his constituency but also the broader region and nation.  

Beyond legislation, Amos cited his focus on grassroots development, particularly in agriculture and education, as well as youth and women empowerment initiatives. He pledged to sustain these efforts while reiterating support for security agencies in combating insecurity.  

He urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to authorities promptly.
