Southern Kaduna Professionals Hail Senator Katung as Most Outstanding Senator in Kaduna 's History

A non-political and non-governmental organization (NGO), the Southern Kaduna Professionals, has called on the people of Kaduna South to rally behind Senator Sunday Marshal Katung, describing his performance as the most outstanding in the history of Kaduna State.  

The group, in a press statement issued on Thursday by its National President, Arc. Samuel Yakubu, in Kaduna, highlighted Senator Katung’s exceptional achievements within his first eighteen months in office, asserting that he has outperformed previous senators from the state.  

Arc. Samuel urged the constituents of Kaduna South Senatorial District to sustain their support for Katung’s transformative vision, emphasizing the need to avoid distractions and divisive politics.  

"Senator Katung, as an opposition leader, championed the bill for the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, which has since been signed into law by the President. This landmark achievement deserves commendation and our unwavering support," Samuel stated.  

He explained that the Federal University represents a critical milestone in addressing the economic marginalization and poverty that have plagued the region for decades. The institution, he added, will provide Southern Kaduna youths with greater access to professional courses often denied them in other universities.  

Samuel also praised Katung’s grassroots initiatives, noting that through his foundation, the senator has empowered women and youths while awarding scholarships to hundreds of students—a record unmatched by any other senator from the zone.  

"Senator Katung has etched his name in the annals of our region’s democratic journey. His contributions have been transformative, and he will be remembered as one of the pillars of our democracy," Samuel remarked.  

He further emphasized that Katung’s tenure has laid a solid foundation for economic growth, social justice, and the overall welfare of the people. "His leadership exemplifies the independence and integrity required to truly represent the aspirations of the people. A thriving democracy depends on leaders who operate free from undue influence, and Senator Katung has demonstrated this in his service," Samuel added.  

The Southern Kaduna Professionals expressed confidence that Katung’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations, urging stakeholders to prioritize development over partisan politics.
