Senator Katung Reaffirms Commitment to Quality Leadership in Southern Kaduna

By: Abubakar Labaran

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung of the Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to providing quality leadership that reflects the hopes and aspirations of his constituents.

The senator made this pledge during a meeting with the Southern Kaduna Journalists Forum (SKJF) at Gwabin Hotel in Zonkwa, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The gathering served as a platform for open dialogue and collaboration.

Senator Katung emphasized that his dedication to the people of Southern Kaduna goes beyond words, highlighting his initiatives in education, agriculture, healthcare, security, and empowerment.

One of his key projects is the sponsorship of a bill to establish the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia. This initiative aims to equip the region's youth with skills and knowledge relevant to modern industries, ensuring they remain competitive in a rapidly advancing world.

In agriculture, the senator has provided support to farmers, particularly those affected by challenges in ginger production, to bolster the local economy and sustain livelihoods. Additionally, his efforts in facilitating the establishment of a federal medical center in Kafanchan underscore his commitment to improving healthcare access in the region.

On security, Senator Katung expressed concern over the rising incidents of kidnappings and violence, particularly in Kauru Local Government. He condemned the alleged involvement of some indigenes in these crimes and assured that measures are being taken to address the issue, including the deployment of security personnel to flashpoints.

The senator reiterated his dedication to fostering peace, growth, and development in Southern Kaduna through empowerment programs, scholarships, and employment initiatives. He urged constituents to continue supporting his efforts to bring meaningful change to the region.

Senator Katung also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his attention to Southern Kaduna, which has led to significant developmental strides. He thanked the SKJF for their support and expressed his readiness to collaborate with them for sustainable progress.

During the meeting, SKJF Chairman Mr. Ango Bally challenged the senator to strive for greater achievements, while Secretary Lilian Silas expressed gratitude for his openness and engagement with the community. Their remarks highlighted the importance of collaboration between leaders and constituents in driving progress and unity.
