Senator Katung Expresses Gratitude as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Signs University of Applied Sciences Kachia into Existence

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing the Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone, has expressed profound gratitude following the establishment of the University of Applied Sciences Kachia by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.  

In a press statement released through his Senior Legislative Aide, Honourable Wilson Iliya Yangye, Senator Katung described the event as a significant milestone for Southern Kaduna. The university, concurrently approved by the Federal Executive Council and signed into existence by President Tinubu, marks a historic achievement in southern Kaduna. 

Senator Katung stated, “Today marks a historic moment for us, and the positive impact of this decision will benefit millions in our region, the country, and the world for generations to come.”  

He added, “We are excited that our vision for a world-class institution of higher learning in Southern Kaduna has been recognized and endorsed. We are eager to embark on this journey that has eluded us for decades.”  

The Senator extended his gratitude to President Tinubu for making the dream a reality. He also thanked Vice President Alhaji Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, his colleagues in the Senate and House of Representatives, as well as Southern Kaduna professors, traditional, community, and religious leaders for their pivotal roles in the project’s success.  

Senator Katung also acknowledged the contributions of the Federal Ministry of Education, particularly the Honourable Minister Marufu Alausa and the Permanent Secretary, among others.  

“Their trust, encouragement, and feedback have been invaluable throughout this process. Their unwavering support, guidance, leadership, and vision have been essential in shaping our proposal, and we are deeply grateful for their partnership,” he said.  

The Senator emphasized that the university will not only provide access to quality education but will also create jobs, stimulate local economic growth, and enrich the social and cultural fabric of the community.  

“This is the vision that Mr. President has set in motion today, and we look forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to bring it to life,” Senator Katung
