NSCDC Arrest Gun Runners, Recover Weapons in Nasarawa Operation

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad has arrested five individuals allegedly involved in illegal firearms possession, gun running, kidnapping, banditry, and job racketeering.

The operation led to the recovery of a significant number of weapons, ammunition, and other items, including firearms, live rounds, and uniforms from the Nigerian Forest Security Services.

The suspects, identified as Umar Ibrahim, Nura Abubakar, and Mohammed Sule, were apprehended in Ukoso Komva Ward, Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, while on their way to deliver arms to a buyer. During interrogation, three of the suspects claimed they were deceived into the crime by an individual named Ali, who is currently at large. Ali allegedly recruited them to assist in the sale of firearms in his possession.

This arrest underscores the NSCDC's efforts to combat illegal activities and enhance security in Nigeria. The agency continues to call on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help curb criminal operations.
