CSC Commences Conversion of Executive Officers to Administrative Officers' Cadre

The Nasarawa State Civil Service Commission has commenced the process of converting Executive Officers to the Administrative Officers' Cadre in the state civil service. 

The conversion follows the submission of briefs and graded files of fifty (50) Executive Officers forwarded to the Commission by the Office of the Head of Service. These officers are seeking conversion from the Executive Cadre to the Administrative Officers' Cadre.

During the 58th Full Commission meeting held last week in the Commission's boardroom, Randolph Para, the Commissioner in charge of Promotions, Conversion, and Discipline, presented the memo. He explained that out of the fifty officers forwarded for conversion, three were seeking conversion from clerical positions to the Executive Cadre.

Para highlighted the shortage of middle-level Administrative Officers in the state civil service, which has placed an additional burden on senior officers and negatively impacted the discharge of administrative duties. 

He emphasized the need to approve the conversion of the affected officers to the Administrative Cadre to address the shortfall in middle-level Administrative Officers. This move, he noted, would enhance effective and efficient service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.

However, Para clarified that Executive Officers on Grade Levels 12, 13, and 14 seeking conversion would be stepped down by one grade level, effective from the date they applied
