Nasarawa State Civil Service Commission Begins Update Promotions and Considers Transfer of Service for Deserving Staff

The Nasarawa State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has commenced the process of updating promotions for deserving officers in the state civil service who were due for promotion between 2018 and 2023.  

During the 69th Full Commission Meeting held recently, the Commissioner for Promotions, Conversion, and Discipline, Randolph Para, presented a memo outlining the details. He revealed that the Office of the Head of Service had forwarded briefs and graded files for 200 officers eligible for promotion during the reviewed period.  

Para explained that the update promotion process was designed to address officers who missed out on recent promotions. He clarified that the promotions would cover up to 2023 and urged members of the Commission to consider and approve the promotions.  

In a related development, the Commissioner in charge of Transfers, Retirement, and Secondment, Salisu Isa, presented another memo requesting the Commission to consider and approve the special transfer of service for 13 staff members from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the state government.  

Isa noted that the Commission had received applications from several government organizations seeking inter-service transfers for their staff to other MDAs. He called on the Commission to review and approve these requests accordingly.  

In response, the Chairman of the Commission, Musa Dangana Giza, directed the Commission to proceed with the promotions and transfer of service for deserving officers. He emphasized that the Commission would carry out its duties in strict adherence to the scheme of service.  

The move is expected to boost morale and ensure that deserving civil servants are duly recognized and appropriately placed within the state’s civil service structure.
