DSP Bala Tanko Musa Turbaned as New Dagachin Kariyo, Pledges Inclusive Leadership and Unity

In a vibrant ceremony held at the Chief’s Palace in Gidan Waya, His Royal Highness, Dr. Habila Sa’idu, the Chief of Godo Godo, turbaned DSP Bala Tanko Musa as the new Dagachin Kariyo of Jama’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The event, attended by dignitaries and community members, marked a significant moment in the chiefdom.

During the turbaning ceremony, the Chief urged the newly appointed Dagachin to adopt an open-door policy in his leadership, emphasizing the importance of fairness, inclusivity, and unity. Dr. Sa’idu highlighted that effective leadership fosters a sense of belonging, promotes peaceful coexistence, and drives meaningful development within the community, regardless of differences.

In his acceptance speech, DSP Bala Tanko Musa expressed deep gratitude and humility for the honor bestowed upon him. He acknowledged the weight of the responsibility and pledged to serve with dedication and integrity. “This title is not just an honor but a profound responsibility that I do not take lightly,” he said. He thanked His Royal Highness for entrusting him with the role and for supporting his vision for the Chiefdom.

At a grand reception held in his hometown of Kariyo, DSP Musa reiterated his commitment to inclusive leadership. “Our Chiefdom is a tapestry woven from many threads—different tribes, cultures, and religions. Each thread is essential, contributing to the vibrant fabric of our community. I promise to ensure that every voice is heard, every concern is addressed, and every citizen feels valued,” he declared. He emphasized that diversity would be celebrated and harnessed as a source of strength.

DSP Musa also outlined his priorities, focusing on peace, prosperity, and unity. He acknowledged past challenges but expressed confidence in overcoming them through collaboration. “Peace is not merely the absence of conflict; it is the presence of justice, understanding, and mutual respect. I urge each one of you to join me in fostering an environment where dialogue prevails over discord,” he added.

The Chairman of the occasion, Zailani Idris, congratulated the new Dagachin and urged him to leverage his experience to drive economic prosperity and foster mutual respect within the community. “I envision a Chiefdom where every individual has access to opportunities, where our youth can find meaningful employment, our farmers can thrive, and our businesses can flourish,” Zailani stated. He called for sustainable development that benefits all and leaves no one behind.

DSP Musa concluded by appealing to the elders for their wisdom, the youth for their energy, and every citizen to contribute to the collective effort. “Let us come together, regardless of our backgrounds, to build a future that we can all be proud of,” he said, signaling a new chapter of unity and progress for the Kariyo community and the Godo Godo Chiefdom.
