Senator Katung Brings Hope and Prosperity to Southern Kaduna

Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone, once plagued by conflicts and lack of support for agriculture, is now witnessing a transformative change thanks to Senator Sunday Marshall Katung. Since his Inauguration at the Upper chamber of the National Assembly in 2023, Senator Katung has been instrumental in promoting peace, unity, and agricultural development in Southern Kaduna.

The senator's tireless efforts have led to a significant reduction in farmers and herders clashes, resulting in a bumper harvest. His unwavering support for farmers has provided them with essential resources, including fertilizers, financial assistance, and training programs. The distribution of spraying machines has also helped farmers combat insect infestations, boosting crop yields.

Senator Katung's agricultural initiatives have had a profound impact on the people, with farmers enjoying unprecedented prosperity. The bumper harvest has improved food security, generated employment opportunities for thousands of youths, and attracted investors to Southern Kaduna. 

A notable achievement is the $6 million agricultural investment from the United States, which will train farmers in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for high food production.

According to Senator Katung " Nigeria depends on our ability to guarantee food security and harness the potential in Agricultural sector. He further said " we must go back to the era when everyone was involved in production, whether for subsistence or commercial purpose, we need to unearth the opportunities for employment and wealth creation in Agriculture"

In response to the recent disease outbreak affecting ginger farms, Senator Katung called for immediate action, and in demonstration to his called the Senator empowered the affected  farmers with quality seeds, fertilizer, and cash. He also donated 50 water pumps for irrigation farming, encouraging people to develop interest in this lucrative aspect.

Senator Katung's commitment to peace and unity is evident in his appointment of Special Advisers on Christian and Muslim matters, fostering inclusivity and cooperation among diverse communities. His leadership has created a conducive environment for economic growth, with investors establishing businesses and creating jobs in southern Kaduna.
